Pieter Bruegel the Elder

Pieter Bruegel the Elder, born between 1525 and 1530, emerged as one of the most significant artists of the Dutch and Flemish Renaissance. After training with Pieter Coecke van Aelst in Antwerp, Bruegel embarked on an adventurous journey to Italy around 1551, traveling as far south as Reggio Calabria.
