Joachim Patinir

Joachim Patinir, also known as Patenier, emerged in the early 16th century as a pivotal figure in the development of landscape painting. Born around 1480 in Dinant or Bouvignes, in what is now Wallonia, Belgium, Patinir later moved to Antwerp, then a bustling center for art in the Low Countries.
