Willem de Zwart

Born in The Hague in 1862, Willem de Zwart, whose full name was Wilhelmus Hendrikus Petrus Johannes de Zwart, began his artistic journey at a young age. Apprenticed to a carriage maker like his father, he spent his free time copying prints and soon enrolled in evening classes at the Royal Academy of Visual Art.
