Antoine-Jean Gros

Antoine-Jean Gros (1771-1835) was a French painter who became one of the most important artists of the Napoleonic era. Born in Paris to a family of painters, Gros trained in the studio of Jacques-Louis David, the leading Neoclassical painter of the time.
