Born in Lebanon, Ohio, Russel Wright (1904–1976) was an American industrial designer who profoundly shaped the mid-20th century American home. After early training at the Art Academy of Cincinnati and the Art Students League, and a brief career in theater set design, Wright shifted his focus to industrial design.
