ABOUT

Born in Bradford, Yorkshire, in 1847, Robert McGregor's family soon moved to Scotland, settling in Dunfermline and later Edinburgh. Though initially without formal art training, he began his career as a book illustrator for Nelson’s publishers in Edinburgh. His passion for art led him to attend the Royal Scottish Academy Life schools, where he also received instruction from a French artist, laying the groundwork for his distinctive style.
