ABOUT

Born in The Hague in 1817, Johannes Bosboom began his artistic journey at just 14, studying under Bartholomeus van Hove. He even helped paint scenery for the Royal Theatre, a formative experience that honed his understanding of light and space. His formal education continued at the Hague Academy of Art, where he met fellow artists Anthonie Waldorp and Wijnand Nuyen. Bosboom's early travels were pivotal.
