Born in Electric City, Washington, in 1938, Dennis Oppenheim's artistic journey began on the West Coast, where he attended the California College of Arts and Crafts and Stanford University. After earning his MFA in 1965, he moved to New York in 1966, marking a pivotal shift in his career.
