Born into humble beginnings in Ferrara around 1430, Cosmè Tura, also known as Il Cosmè, became a pivotal figure in the Italian Early Renaissance. While details of his early training are scarce, historical documents place him decorating objects for the Este family court in Ferrara as early as 1451-1452.
