ABOUT

Born in Sèvres, France, in 1810, Constant Troyon began his artistic journey at a young age as a decorator in the famous Sèvres porcelain manufactory. This early training instilled in him a meticulous attention to detail, a skill he later had to consciously unlearn as he transitioned to fine art. By his early twenties, Troyon was traveling the French countryside, painting landscapes and supporting himself by intermittently returning to porcelain decoration when funds ran low.…
