Charles Demuth

Born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 1883, Charles Demuth lived his entire life in the 18th-century house he shared with his mother, Augusta. Despite a lifelong struggle with health issues, including a limp from a childhood injury or illness and later diabetes, Demuth cultivated a vibrant artistic career.
