Bertel Thorvaldsen

Albert Thorvaldsen (Danish: [ˈpɛɐ̯tl̩ ˈtsʰɒːˌvælˀsn̩]; sometimes given as Bertel/Berthel/Alberto Thorwaldsen or Thor; 19 November 1770 – 24 March 1844) was a Danish-Icelandic sculptor and medalist of international fame, who spent most of his life (1797–1838) in Italy.
