ABOUT

Born in Calcutta, India, in 1838, Valentine Cameron Prinsep was the second child of Henry Thoby Prinsep, a civil servant, and Sara Monckton Pattle. His family's home, Little Holland House, became a vibrant hub of artistic society, frequently hosting the painter George Frederick Watts, under whom Prinsep first studied.
