Thomas Wilmer Dewing

Born in Boston in 1851, Thomas Wilmer Dewing began his artistic journey as a lithographic apprentice before heading to Paris in 1876 to study at the Académie Julian. There, he honed an academic technique, focusing on meticulous detail and subtle textures, which would become hallmarks of his distinctive style.
