Born Charles Rogers Grooms in Nashville, Tennessee, in 1937, Red Grooms became known for his distinctive blend of painting, sculpture, and printmaking, earning him the nickname "Red" from Dominic Falcone of Provincetown's Sun Gallery early in his career.
