Philipp Otto Runge

Philipp Otto Runge was a German artist, draftsman, painter, and color theorist, often considered alongside Caspar David Friedrich as a leading figure of German Romanticism. Born in Wolgast in 1777, Runge suffered from frail health throughout his life, eventually succumbing to tuberculosis at the young age of 33.
