Paul Cadmus

Born in 1904 to artist parents in Manhattan, Paul Cadmus showed an early aptitude for art, leaving school at 15 to attend the National Academy of Design and later the Art Students League of New York. His early career included commercial illustration, but a pivotal trip to Europe from 1931 to 1933 with fellow artist Jared French solidified his dedication to fine art.
