Natalia Goncharova (1881–1962) was a formidable force in the Russian avant-garde, an artist whose bold vision helped shape modern art. Born into an educated, politically liberal family, she initially explored diverse fields before enrolling in the Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture in 1901, where she studied sculpture.
