Giuseppe Arcimboldo

Born in Milan in 1527, Giuseppe Arcimboldo followed in his father Biagio's footsteps, beginning his artistic career designing stained glass and frescoes for local cathedrals. His early work also included traditional religious subjects, which, interestingly, have largely faded from public memory compared to his more whimsical creations.
