Born in Venice in 1727, Giovanni Domenico Tiepolo, or Giandomenico as he's often known, was destined for a life in art. The son of the renowned painter Giovanni Battista Tiepolo, Domenico began his artistic journey early, becoming his father's chief assistant by the age of 13. He honed his skills by translating his father's designs into finished works, traveling with him to major commissions like the Würzburg stairwell fresco (1751–53) and the Royal Palace of Madrid (1762–70…
