Giacomo Antonio Melchiorre Ceruti (1698–1767), affectionately nicknamed 'Pitocchetto' or 'little beggar,' was an Italian late Baroque painter renowned for his poignant and realistic genre scenes. Born in Milan, Ceruti moved with his family to Brescia in 1711, where he likely began his artistic training.
