George Bellows

Born in Columbus, Ohio, in 1882, George Bellows initially pursued a path in athletics, playing baseball and basketball at Ohio State University. Despite an offer to play professional baseball, his passion for art led him to New York City in 1904, where he studied under Robert Henri at the New York School of Art.
