ABOUT

Born in 1870 in Bohdanów, then part of the Russian Empire and now Belarus, Ferdynand Ruszczyc initially pursued a law degree at the University of St. Petersburg. However, his passion for art soon led him to switch to painting classes at the Imperial Academy of Arts. There, he honed his skills under the tutelage of renowned Russian landscape painters Ivan Shishkin and Arkhip Kuindzhi.
