Born in Switzerland to German parents in 1842, Eugen Felix Prosper Bracht's artistic journey began in Darmstadt, Germany, under Karl Ludwig Seeger and later Hans Gude. Initially dissatisfied with his work, he even took a detour into the merchant world in Berlin for over a decade before rekindling his passion for painting in 1876.
