Berenice Abbott

Born in Ohio in 1898, Berenice Abbott initially pursued sculpture and painting, studying in New York City, Paris, and Berlin. Her artistic path took a pivotal turn in 1923 when she became a darkroom assistant for Man Ray in Paris.
