ABOUT

Born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1927, Alex Katz's artistic journey began with studies at the Cooper Union in New York and the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Maine. His time at Skowhegan, from 1949 to 1950, proved pivotal, immersing him in painting from life and cementing his dedication to art.
